Nearly half of Britons take vitamins as spend rises to £414 million a year

Almost half of Britons now take a daily vitamin or supplement as the number of people taking a more proactive approach to their health soars, according to a new report today. In the past year alone the number of health-conscious daily vitamin users has rocketed by 5 per cent to 46 per cent – a rise of 820 per cent – the latest research shows. The market for vitamins and supplements is rising according to the study from consumer analysts Mintel. Sales of vitamins and supplements increased a healthy 2 per cent between 2014 and 2015 to reach £414 million.
